Wooden runabout for sale11/18/2023 This boat is a real head turner when you are out. I have used in in several lakes in Pa and also used it once in Ocean City NJ at Night in Venice in which it won in the Classic Boat category. This boat has no leaks and is ready to go in the water. Engine was fully serviced and in perfect running condition. Includes 15 Hp Johnson engine and trailer. I have based the price relative to this hagerty valuation. For Sale is my 1958 Cadillac Marine 14 ft. The trailer I got it with was scrapped several years ago and I had a new custom dual axle DHM trailer manufactured for it. It has dual carburetors for high altitude, runs with a deep throaty roar and has never failed to start right up in 27 years. The hull should probably be taken down to bare wood soon. I missed the varnishing this year having been too busy with other projects and traveling. The photographs unfortunately don’t show it with a fresh coat of varnish but rather, the day I pulled it out of the water last fall after a full summer of use. It has a full canvas cover and is always covered when not in use and has always been garaged in the window. I have typically varnished every other year and serviced the engine on the odd years. It has a 2 battery configuration with a switch dial for on/off/both. (I believe either aluminum or stainless, over $1000). I had a brand new custom tank manufactured and installed. In 2017, the original gas tank finally failed. It has an automatic mid boat bilge pump and I added a manual bilge pump in the stern to pump when the bow is up and under way to lighten the load. I use a dipstick and the clock glass has a crack. The gas gauge and clock have never worked since I’ve owned it. Other than 2006, the boat has been in the lake and buoyed every year I’ve had it. The boats bottom was fiberglassed professionally at some point before I bought it in 92. All of the chrome and instruments and chrome are original as far as I know. In 2006, all of the upholstery was also redone. The dashboard was also plywood with vinyl. At that time Also removed the interior vinyl over plywood panels and milled and installed new mahogany slats on the interior. I took the boat down to bare wood in 2006 replacing the bungs and the top decks. I’m reluctantly selling it to decrease my maintenance burden on a number of fronts. This 21 ‘ Century Coronado boat has been very reliable for me over the past 27 years. Bought by the current owner from Sierra Boat in 1992. This boat has spent its entire life on Lake Tahoe. Sold as a new boat at the Sierra Boat company at Lake Tahoe in 1956. It comes with appropriate stern and bow flags, a rain shedding watertight mooring cover and an adequate road worthy trailer with new tires (Sept 2022), working lights and cool running hubs. Additionally the engine had a complete rebuild in 2013 including new heads, newly ground crankshaft and re-bored pistons with new piston rings, bearings, gaskets and seals. The 289 Ford Interceptor engine was ‘marinized’ by Holman Moody of NASCAR fame with a Holman Moody intake manifold and Holly 4 barrel carburetor. It has been well maintained, used every summer over the last 10 years with 2 varnish refreshings and 2 bottom paintings during that time. So the boat is of modern construction in a traditional method that will last far longer than when new. The boat has unique mahogany decking with all new bottom, sides, topsides and many ribs, and battens. It comes with a photo album documenting a complete rebuild in 1999-2000 using modern techniques with 3M 5200 in the traditional build method as when new. This is a unique and fun little Resorter with an interesting history that was featured on the cover of Century Boat Club “Thoroughbred Newsletter” No.119 – Summer 2010 Vol.31 No.2. Rather than it sitting in storage at the marina (we run it every year regardless), we would like for a second family to enjoy it and have decided to part ways. My kids have not taken to the boat (they now have a 2022 Whaler) and my dad at almost 80 hasn't spent much time on it either. The outside is in good condition, but I did not have it repainted (one larger scratch). and we still have the original American flag and Century flag with the wooden posts. There is also a new cover, the battery was replaced, etc. Lakeport Landing Marina in Laconia, NH went through the entire engine and also replaced the entire throttle system (to make it a little easier for the kids). Unique Boat Restoration in Moultonborough, NH redid the entire inside of the boat, from the stringers to seating, upholstery, rugs, stereo, etc. It hadn't been used in several years and I decided to surprise him by having the boat renovated, with hopes my own kids would learn to drive it as well with their grandfather. My dad owned this boat and I grew up on Lake Winnipesaukee with it.
